The spring end of the thermostat goes into the engine. If you have the rubber ring gasket, the rubber ring has a slice on the inside of the gasket. Fit the rubber gasket around the outside of the thermostat before you set the thermostat in place. Be sure the thermostat and gasket are in place with the spring end facing the engine and install the thermostat housing, done.
No , there is a rubber ring that goes around the edge of the thermostat
Most older Chevy silverados use a rubber gasket around the thermostat itself... the upper housing also has a rubber gasket built into it. Did you move the gasket from the old one & put it on the new one? There is also a paper gasket you can use, but you need a lot of permaseal & it isn't as good. Most parts store will have the rubber gasket & it's about $1.00
About $12.00 including the rubber gasket.
It is under the outlet where the upper radiator hose joins the engine. To change it: Remove the two bolts, the housing comes off and the thermostat is under it. It is a tiny thermostat. To install the new one, you will need two gaskets. The rubber gasket that goes around the thermostat and the regular gasket in between the outlet and the engine block.
The thermostat in the 3.5 engines is located on the front top, under the small fitting to which a rubber hose from the radiator goes. Replacement thermostats generally come with a gasket. When taking the bad thermostat out, note which way it points. You can doublecheck when installing if the new thermostat has the label "to radiator" on it.
Follow the hose very simple. It's right on top of the block and has a rubber gasket that goes around the thermostat itself. You take off the two bolts and pull the thermostat out and put new one in its place after putting gasket on new one. and put everything back together
the thermostat should be located on the engine side of the top radiator hose, new rubber seal is important and no gasket sealer is needed.
You do not "lube" the gasket with anything. If it is a flat paper gasket, you can use any shelac type sealer, but you don't have to as these will usually swell with contact with coolant and seal. If it is the kind that is a rubber ring around the thermostat itself, these require no sealant as pressure alone seal the housing to the motor.
No it should fit into the housing along with the thermostat. Try putting the rubber in first, then the thermostat. remember the rubber is malliable so it will conform to the opening, then insert the thermostat
pieces of rubber seal found inside the thermostat housing on my corsa 1.2 sxi (04) plate, where did the rubber seal or gasket come from?
That's easy actually i don't really know haha sorrry you guys *blushes*
If Is the V-6 it is under the intake where the the big black tube connects. It should have a black rad hose hooked to it. It is not a big job to change just a weird spot. Make sure to replace gasket and a new rubber seal the goes on the thermostat. I changeg mine in about 45 minutes. But make sure when you purchase the new thermstat there are three pieces, the thermostat the gasket and the rubber seal.
