I know that father can be used as a verb, but I've never heard of family being used as a verb.
Ua ho'opakele. Pronounced oo-wah hoh-(short pause)-oo-pah-keh-leh. Ua is to denote pastense. Ho'opakele is the word for rescued, to escape, to be freed.
