In Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Harry is discovering more and more about his close relationship with Voldemort, and is discovering what it means to grow up. Harry is training to become an Auror (basically a wizard police officer) and begins to take potions classes with a new instructor. Since he assumes he will not be allowed to take the class, (Professor Snape won't admit students who got less than an exceeds expectations on their O.W.L's) Harry doesn't buy a potions book. He is given a tattered old copy and discovers the previous owners gift for potions. With the help of the book, Harry is guided through Potions and is given clues on how to defeat Voldemort. On the side, Harry realizes his love for his best friends sister, and Hermione and Ron enter a confusing love battle of their own. I won't say anymore, you will have to read it!

The characters and the setting of Harry Potter are all unique. As is the plot. Although wizards and orphaned children who become heroes are not unique, the more detailed elements of the plot is.
Most likely, this is because the main plot line that the entire Harry Potter story was based upon is finished. Therefore, an 8th book would have no real plot line.

Arogog is Hagrid's pet. It is a giant spider that was blamed for terrorizing Hogwarts School 50 years earlier. In order to save Arogog's life, Hagrid released the spider into the forbidden forest and later found him a mate. Hagrid still visits Arogog and loves him dearly.
