Due to the apple shortage in the UK and the dry weather across most of the apple producing areas in the US the price of apples for the 2008 season will be slightly higher than last year. For example, Honeycrisp apples are expected to sell for $4.00 per pound. While, the more abundant varieties will also be up due to increased transportation costs.
