What is the prime factorization 40 i need the answer please?

The prime factorization of 40 is 2^3 * 5, or 2 * 2 * 2 * 5.

Prime factorization is easy. Just start dividing a number by other numbers you know will divide it evenly. Then divide the result numbers again, by numbers that will divide evenly. Continue the process until you get answers that can't be divided by anything except themselves and one. Those answers are *prime* numbers.

Starting with 40, we observe that we can divide by 10, to get 4 * 10. But 4 is 2 * 2. And 10 is 2 * 5. Since 2 can't be divided anymore, nor can 5 (they're both prime), the prime factorization is:

4: 2 * 2

10: 2 * 5

Combine all the factors: 2 * 2 * 2 * 5.
