You may have a clogged fuel line or a clogged fuel filter.
my 1992 dodge dakota wont stay running it stalls when driving and takes a few minutes to get started but if i wait it will start
It is on because there is a problem with the SRS. Take it to a professional, as working on the SRS is dangerous and not a DIY job.
You could have a problem with your alternator, which supplies electricity to the engine. That is the most common problem I've had with my neon. The other possibilities could be that the O2 sensors [pre and post the catalytic converter] could be damaged or dirty. Heres a question that could help answer the question. How long does it stay started before it cuts off? if the answer is roughly 5 to 10 minutes at most, then its the alternator. If the answer is about 1 to 2 hours depending on if your driving on the highway then it could be the O2 sensors.
i had this happen to me it turned out to be a dead battery
You have a problem with the SRS. This is not a DIY repair. Seek out a professional for this repair as working on this system can be hazardous.
if they come on when first started and then go off, that is the computer doing a system check if they come on and stay on,that is the telling you that there is a problem in your brake system.get it fixed before you kill someone if they come on when first started and then go off, that is the computer doing a system check if they come on and stay on,that is the telling you that there is a problem in your brake system.get it fixed before you kill someone I had the same problem and was told it was a speed sensor. I didn't have time to go and get it fixed, and it went away in a couple of weeks and never came back on. (knock on wood!)
A 1989 Chevy Cavalier will not stay running after it has started if the spark plugs are fouled, the fuel filter is dirty, or it has a vacuum leak. Taking the vehicle to a local mechanic or dealership can pinpoint the problem.
Well that would be a good thing in order to have fuel sent to the engine. what seems to be the problem?
Try the idle control
it could be the throttling positioning sensor
yes your battery may be duff, however it would be worth getting your charge rate checked by a garage as the problem can also mean an alternator problem
Chances are your main relay switch is bad. It is located on the driver side kick panel. I had same problem and changed mine and have not had the problem since.
