How many times should you brush your dog and what kind of brush?

It depends what type of dog you have. If your dog is double-coated (which means the dog in question has either a fluffy, silky coat, or a very soft sheeps-wool type coat) you would want to use a bristle brush, a double-coat brush, and most likely a pair of scissors to cut out any mats in the pooches' fur. For a single-coated dog, you want to use a plain slicker brush.

Well my family try to brush our Yorkshire Terrier a couple of times a month if we don't bath him, just so he looks a little bit better and less scruffy, but you don't need to do it as much if you've already given it a bath that month (unless of course, if you feel the need to).

A nice, soft brush with a bit of a bristle.But if it happens that you need a harsh brush, justgo very gently on the dogs fur. Dogs fur and skin are verydelicate. You have to be very careful.
