What is subverted narrative?
Well a normal narrative starts in equilibrium and the audience just get a sense of the world the protagonist lives in. A subverted narrative starts with disruption and events transpire from there. What is the exact definition of film narrative?
The exact definition of film narrative is this: Film narrative is the depiction in the medium of film of a series of events in cause and effect relationship occurring in time. Loosely speaking film narrative is a story constructed from production and story elements. Story telling in film is dependent on production processes more than other forms (such as literature poetry, song, or even drama and dance theatre). Production elements of camera, sound, editing, lighting, acting, visual composition (or mis-en-scene: sets, props, costume, make-up), and special effects (such as CGI) combine with story elements of character, setting, plot, cause and effect, and structuring of time.

Like I said A closed narrative is an extension of a linear narrative and the "close" means wrapping up the story and not leaving any questions unanswered. some examples of this is in film such as Sweeney Todd or Lovely Bones.
