The push-pull theory in art refers to the visual effects created by contrasting elements such as color, shape, and texture to create a sense of depth and movement in a two-dimensional artwork. By alternating between elements that seem to advance (push) or recede (pull), artists can create dynamic compositions that engage the viewer's eye.
