His purpose was for all people to enjoy perfect health and live forever. God’s purpose has not changed. (Isaiah 46:10, 11) He still wants obedient humans to live forever in perfect conditions and this will be fulfilled in the near future.—(Revelation 21:3, 4. Psalm 37:10,11)
