Minecraft's recommended amount of specs is to have at least 1 GB of space, however the absolute bare minimum is 500MB. With 3 - 4GB's, you should be good to play on some higher settings!
You only need one, but you would need lots of DDR3 (RAM), maybe 2+ GB.
Generally, a 2 GB server would be able to hold 32 people if they were doing nothing. Even under these circumstances though, the volume of data involved would swamp this server.* * There are many other variables that determine how many people a server can hold. Assuming a good internet connection, a more practical number would be a maximum of 10 - 15 players. This configuration would cause some lag, but would be less likely to crash.
Windows Vista requires 512 MB of RAM and 15 GB of free hard drive space (can be crammed into 9 after installation). Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) requires 512 MB of RAM and 9 GB of free hard drive space. Ubuntu Linux 8.04 requires 512 MB of RAM to boot from a LiveCD, but will install on as little as 64 MB. 384 MB is the recommended minimum. 8 GB of free hard drive space is recommended, but as little as 4 GB is usable.
There are hosts for this, a host is basically a server, but require payment for upkeep and such. There are some good ones out there, if you're running a big server you're going to have to part some extra dollars as you would normally have with a smaller server, since hosts typically charge by gigabyte per month.
I would not recommend using free hosting because you will run into tons of problems. Therefore, we recommend that you go here bit. ly / 2MSE5gI (remove the space after the dot) and choose a good hosting. I already took a server with 4 gigabytes of memory and play well with my friends!
Fix your Java, for example if you have a 32bit pc, use 32java, if you have a 64bit pc, use java 64 bit, or clean out your cache and memory, minecraft needs to have good performace and good backup space (~1 GB)
if your server is intel then never change this and 128 ram is better then 64 i an suggest you from my experience
Minecraft shouldn't take more than 1 or 2 gigs of free memory if you are not doing much(example, mining, idling on singleplayer) If you are on a heavy traffic Minecraft server, or if you have a lot of mods, Minecraft could use from 4 to 10 gigs of free ram. If you are asking about hard drive, it can be around one half to one gig of hard drive space.
Gigabytes?! It should NOT be much, unless it is a combination of 1,000s of minecraft mods. Minecraft mods take up very little space. Just be sure to have winrar or 7zip.
Minecraft uses about 500 megabytes of RAM to play, that can vary if you change the settings.
The following are the Minimum requirements for installation but it would be better to increase most of them. * 133 MHz or more Pentium microprocessor (or equivalent). Windows 2000 Professional supports up to two processors on a single computer. * 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM recommended minimum. 32 MB of RAM is the minimum supported. 4 gigabytes (GB) of RAM is the maximum. * At least 2 GB hard disk that has 650 MB of free space. If you are installing over a network, more free hard disk space is required. * monitor. * Keyboard. * Mouse * CD drive or DVD drive
