You'll find the recommended cold tire pressure for the Solara (and most vehicles) on a sticker attached to the driver's side doorsill and in the owner's manual. The recommended pressure, front and rear for the Solara equipped with the 215-55-R17 tire is 32/32. I believe there may be another tire size mounted on the 4-cylinder Solara that might require a different pressure. Check that doorsill sticker and your owner's manual to be sure. Tire pressure should always be set when the tire is cold. I.E. when the car hasn't been on the road for several hours. Tires heat up while rolling which increases the pressure. Readings taken then won't be accurate. And one more item. If your Solara is equipped with the tire pressure sensor and you have to change pressure by more than a couple of pounds be sure to reset the system. That requires pressing the tire pressure button (lower left on the dash) for several seconds. The pressure light will go out then blink several times. After the light stops blinking you can let go of the button. Cheers
Standard 215-60-R15 tires can be replaced with 215-50-R17 tires by first installing new rims. The vehicle may need to be raised with a suspension lift kit to achieve sufficient clearance.
