very confused about this myself. Here is what the pharmacist told me and gave me a official brochure explaining cephalexin capsules. I also want to know the serum half life here is what I know
Rapidity absorbed after oral administration. Pills doses 250mg, 500mg and 1 g. Average peak serum levels of 9,18,32,mcg/mL were obtained after one hour. Measurable levels were present 6 hours after administration, Cephalexin is excreted in the urine. Studies show that 90% of the drug was excreted unchanged in urine after 8 hours. SO Im thinking this is my option from here on half life 3.6 hours?? Idk but I find it had to believe the half life is .9 hours if it takes 8 hours to get rid of 90% of the drug. Please respond back if you want to discuss more
i think because half life of serum is 20 days .since half life of albumine in serum is 2-3 weeks
Serum half-life refers to the time it takes for the drug concentration in the bloodstream to decrease by 50%. Elimination half-life refers to the time it takes for the drug concentration in the body to decrease by 50% due to elimination processes such as metabolism and excretion. Serum half-life is more focused on drug levels in the blood, while elimination half-life reflects the overall removal of the drug from the body.
2 hours
The cast of The Serum of Life - 2011 includes: Amy McCullough
Time to eliminate 50% of any drug equals half-life (t1/2) of that drug.
YOU need to get a life
