An embankment built along the side of a river to control flooding can be called several things. Probably levee is the most common, but it can be dike or floodbank. It can also be called what you called it, an embankment.
Its called the Huang Pu river! On one side of the river is Pu dong,in pudong there are many famous buildings like the Pearl tower, Jinmao and financial tower. On the other side its Pu Xi, in puxi theres a great hotel called the Westin. Every Sunday there is a brunch at the westin, i recommend it greatly! hope this helps!
I think you refer to the Watershed.... say rain falls on a mountain side & some of it eventually flows into the River Anything & some flows into the next valley, the River Zoobeedoobeedoo. Where the dividing line is, (Between the Anything & the Zoobeedoobeedoo) is the Watershed.
