Generally they tend to be larger than other breeds, but not all of them are very large. They tend to grow *long* (as opposed to wide or thick), so that their true size is hidden beneath the long fur while they are seated or standing, until you see them stand on their back feet, or manually stretch them out.
They also tend to be more focal than some other breeds.
Ragdolls are definitely not small. I have a male and he is 20 pounds (and hes not overweight - just huge). These cats are the bulkiest domestic cat and have got plenty of fur too! Although known to be most laid back cat with smooth fur that doesn't mat, they are GIANT.
