The smallest bone in the human body is the stapes/stirrup which is one of the auditory ossicles of the middle ear. It measures about 3 x 2.5mm, but please keep in mind that it has an irregular shape, similar to the stirrup of a saddle. A grain of rice is typically 4mm long by 1.5mm wide.
