The answer to this question used to be Pluto.
However, Pluto got re-classified as a dwarf planet a few years ago, and we've discovered a number of other dwarf planets, so the answer has changed. The smallest planet is now Mercury, which is the closest to the sun, and the farthest planet from the sun is now Neptune. If you include dwarf planets, then the farthest from the sun is Eris, but Eris is larger than Pluto.
The smallest "official" planet is Mercury, which is the nearest to the Sun. The most distant planet is Neptune.
In 2006, the International Astronomical Union finally defined "planet" for the first time, resulting in the demotion of Pluto from "planet" to "dwarf planet". This was done because of the discovery of several new "planet-like" objects in the outer solar system.
Dwarf Planets
Name ..... Orbital Distance ... Diameter ... Mass
Ceres ......415Gm ..................950 km .......9.43E20 kg
Pluto .......5,906 Gm ..............2,300 km ....1.35E22 kg
Haumea.. 6,450 Gm ..............2,870 km ....4.1E21 kg
Makemake 6,850 Gm ............~1,500 km ..4E21 kg
Eris ...........10,100 Gm ..........2,600 km ....1.67E22 kg
Note: Orbital distances are in giga-meters.
The smallest planet is Mercury. The farthest planet away from the sun is Neptune.
Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun. Mercury is the smallest planet.
Mercury is now the smallest planet since Pluto has been downgraded to planetoid. Neptune is farthermost from the sun.
The furthers is Neptune. The nearest to the sun is Mercury.
The smallest is MercuryThe farthest is Neptune
The farthest from Earth = NeptuneThe smallest in our solar system = Mercury
The furthest planet in the Solar system is Neptune. The smallest is Mercury.
the smallest and farthest planet from the sun
The smallest planet is mercury, and the planet farthest from the sun is Neptune.
The Earth is the 6th farthest planet from the Sun. Neptune is the farthest.
The next-to-farthest planet is Uranus. The farthest planet is Neptune.
Neptune is the farthest planet from the sun
Neptune is farthest from the SunUranus is the coldest planet in our solar system
The smallest planet is mercury, and the planet farthest from the sun is Neptune.
The smallest is MercuryThe farthest is Neptune
Mercury is the smallest of the eight planets, but is the closest. The furthest planet is Neptune, but its not the smallest.
Pluto is no longer considered a planet, but back when it was a planet, it would fit that description. Mercury is now the official smallest planet, but it is closest, not farthest.
The Earth is the 6th farthest planet from the Sun. Neptune is the farthest.
Mars is the inner planet farthest from the Sun.
Quite the opposite, it is the closest planet to the sun. The farthest planet from the sun is Neptune.
The eighth farthest planet from the Sun is Mercury. The first farthest is Neptune.
The next-to-farthest planet is Uranus. The farthest planet is Neptune.
The planet that is farthest from the sun is Neptune. The planet is 2,798,000,000 miles from the Sun. Before it became a dwarf planet, Pluto was the farthest.
No, the farthest planet from the Sun is always Neptune.
Mars is the farthest terrestrial planet from the Sun.
