Best Answer

light and ATP
it gives the plant the ability to make it's own food, if it doesn't make its own food it is a consumer not a producer
It receives energy from light

It produces energy as ATP and NADH
Source of energy is light. Meaning of "photo" is light
Sun

Photo means the light. So it needs light energy. This energy is obtained from sun

Usually the light from the sun however special electric lights are available for this as well. When it boils right down to it though even the light that comes from the bulbs comes from an energy source, (oil, coal, gas, photoelectric, etc) aside from nuclear, that originally was formed by Photosynthesis using the sun.

What are the mean source of energy for photosynthesis?

The source of energy for photosynthesis is actually "Photon" which is considered as a particle of light containing a high amount of energy got from "D-D nuclear reaction" occurred in the Sun.

Where does the energy for photosynthesis come from and what part of the plant pigments are involved in photosynthesis?

The energy for photosynthesis comes from respiration. The plant takes in oxygen and uses it for energy with in its cells. The chloroplast have a green substance called chlorophyll which absorbes the light needed for photosynthesis. the reaction happens there. Unfortunately the previous answer is not quite right. The ultimate source of energy for photosynthesis is sunlight. Plants convert the light energy into chemical energy in the form of glucose, which they can then use as a source of energy in their cells. Energy is released from glucose by respiration.
