Bilbo rejoins the dwarves after escaping the goblin cave. They is a recap the flight from the goblins in the dark and Bilbo makes up a bit of a story about what happened, keeping the ring a secret. While putting distance between them and the goblins' mountain stronghold they are discovered by a pack of wargs and climb into the trees to escape. The Goblins join the wargs and start to burn Gandalf, the dwarves and The Hobbit out of the trees. The giant eagles swoop down from the sky and pluck them from the tree tops and take them to their aerie. After Gandalf talks with the eagles they cook food and eat and then fall asleep.
You should read it to really see what happens, as how you experience the book is just as important as what actually happens in it. However, here is the summary for chapter nine:
Bilbo and the dwarves have just defeated the Spiders, and they struggle to escape the wood. They pick a random direction, but that way leads to an ambush by the Wood-elves. They surrender immediately, too tired and hungry to put up a fight. However, Bilbo slips on his ring so that he can become invisible and follow them.
Inside the cavern they are led to, there is a great hall where the Elvenking sits on his throne. He questions the dwarves, but gets no answers (the dwarves don't want to tell him of their plans to get Smaug's treasure, fearing that the elves will want a share). This makes the king angry, and he imprisons them.
After a couple weeks of Bilbo sneaking around the elf palace, he finds out where the dwarves are kept--even Thorin, whom he learns is also being kept there. Bilbo tells them all not to tell the king anything.
He discovers that a stream runs underneath the palace and flows into the forest. There are trap doors in the king's cellars to drop barrels in the river (to transport them to the Long Lake where men live).
When a new shipment of wine comes in for the king's feast, the butler and guards leave their posts to try it, and fall asleep after getting drunk. Bilbo steals the cell keys and frees Thorin and the other dwarves.
He has them climb into barrels into the room with the trap doors, and they wait for the guards to come in and push the barrels through the doors and into the river. Still invisible, Bilbo clings to the last barrel as it's pushed into the river.
Eventually, the barrels float to a shore, where people tie the barrels together. Bilbo climbs on top of the barrel raft just as the raft elves push it down the river towards Laketown.
The main conflict in the Hobbit is trying to regain the Lonely Mountain from Smaug the Dragon.
I think that the main idea of chapter 10 is the dwarves and Bilbo's stay with the Lake men.
There are actually 2 big conflicts in this chapter of The Hobbit- getting away from the elves and encountering the people of Laketown.
The main idea of The Hobbit is how a little Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins go's on a adventure to fight the evil dragon and he is with a great wizard named Gandalf.
The conflict between staying safe at home or taking a risk. Bilbo took off on the adventure in spite of his misgivings.
Smaug is the major conflict who is slain by Bard.
There are so many conflicts. The goblins of the Misty Mountains were a huge conflict, but also the wild wolves, the giant spiders, the wood elves, and of course the most important conflict of all, Smaug the Great Dragon.
The main idea of "The Hobbit" is Bilbo finding an adventurous side of himself that he got from his mother, Took's side.
The hobbit is the main character in the book The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. The word hobbit may come from the Old English word holbytla, which means hole-dweller.
Gerontius Took, called the "Old Took" was a hobbit, the 26th Thain of the Shire, an ancestor to several of the main hobbit characters in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
The main conflict in The Hobbit is trying to regain the Lonely Mountain from Smaug the Dragon.
The main points of conflict in The Hobbit were caused by the greed of various people.

The main theme of The Hobbit is good vs. evil.

Gerontius Took, called the "Old Took" was a hobbit, the 26th Thain of the Shire, an ancestor to several of the main hobbit characters in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Hobbits first appeared in the J. R. R. Tolkien novel, The Hobbit, in which the main protagonist, Bilbo Baggins, is a hobbit. The main protagonist of The Lord of the Rings, Frodo Baggins, is a hobbit, as are his friends and co-protagonists
There is more than one conflict in The Hobbit. The conflict with society would be with the river elves or Bilbo interactions with the dwarves as a group. But there is man vs man, man vs society, man vs enviroment
