If your asking about the British ten pound note, then it is still in circulation and there are no plans to withdraw it. (February 2009)
During the later part of the 8th century AD, the Pound was a value without a coin. It was an accounting value based on 240 silver Pennies weighing one pound. Over the ensuing 400 years, the 240 silver Pennies became known as a "pound of sterlings" eventually giving rise to the expression "Pound Sterling" during the late 12th century AD. The Pound Sterling is the oldest currency in the world that is still in use today. Ad Hoc Bank of England One Pound notes, often hand written, were issued from 1694(?) to 1821(?). The Sovereign (One Pound face value) was first issued in 1817. The H.M. Treasury One Pound note was first issued in 1914. The modern Bank of England One Pound note was first issued in 1928. The One Pound coin was first issued for circulation in 1983. There were One Pound gold coins issued during the reign of Elizabeth I, but they were apparently not very popular. Henry VIII, Edward VI and Mary also issued Sovereign coins, nothing like the modern Sovereign, but due to currency problems at the time, their face value varied greatly.
There was no Australian Dollar until 1966, long after the "early settlement". At the time of currency changeover from Pounds to Dollars, the Australian One Pound note converted to the Australian Two Dollar note.
Other than the reigning Monarch, the Bank of England has never issued bank notes with living persons on them. The Royal Bank of Scotland has issued commemorative Pound Sterling notes as follows - £20 note featuring Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother in 2000. £5 note featuring Jack Nicklaus in 2005.
filipino elites who refuse to fund the katipunan sees by the katipuneros as uncooperative and were framed by them (lead by emilio jacino) by forging their signatures as a funder by the katipunan. they intentionally left these papers in their hide out and were soon found by the spanish authorities. The spanish authorities then one by one arrest these filipino elites. These filipino elites of couse denied their cooperation with the kaipuneros, but then the spanish tortured and execute them. were rizal also seen as "uncooperative" because he refuse to join the katipunan? after all rizal was the password of the katipunan, he has his picture hung in their hide out and every katipuneros during their battle has their picture of rizal in their pocket. Did the katipunan respect rizal or framed him??? (note that bonifacio called him "duwag" after he refuse to give his cooperation iin the katipunan organization)
