The second star represents the Great Chicago Fire; its six points stand for religion, education, aesthetics, justice, beneficence, and civic pride. The third star represents the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition; its six points stand for different territories that Chicago has been a part of (France, Great Britain, Virginia, Northwest Territory, Indiana Territory, and Illinois). The fourth star represents the Century of Progress Exposition from 1833-1933; its six points stand for being the United States' 2nd Largest City, Chicago's Latin Motto (Urbs in horto or City in a garden), Chicago's "I Will" Motto, Great Central Marketplace, Wonder City, and Convention City.
