What is the tensile strength of limestone?
it is delta force divided by delta area when failure occurs.
That all depends on the material For most all metals, tensile strength is stronger by about factor of 1.7 For most metals tensile strength is equal to compression strength For concrete, both comppression strength and shear strength are higher than tensile strength For many composites, tensile strenght is higherthan compression strength
i understand that this is not a real answer but i too am looking for an answer to this question, and it depends on whether you mean its ultimate tensile strength or its yield tensile strength. though i have found a value of 180MPa for its tensile strength, it is unclear for which meaning this result applies and is useless to me but may help you.
