'Solubility' . NB Different substances have different solubilities.

NNB All Group 1 metals are soluble.

All nitrates are soluble

Most chlorides are soluble or partially soluble

Sulphates are insoluble.

well ,when the substances dissolve the term is solid , liquid and gas . so the real term could be solid because solid has a great term

What is the ability to dissolve other chemicals?

Solubility is defined as the ability of one substance to dissolve into another substance. Polarity is the main property that governs solubility. Polar molecules will dissolve in polar solvents and non polar molecules will dissolve in non polar colvents. Just remember like dissolves like. Water is polar and it is known as the univeral solvent.

What is water solvency?

water's inherent ability to dissolve other substances

How does waters polar nature affect its ability to dissolve substances?

Substances unable to dissolve in water?

I'm not sure what your asking but the term for substances that are unable to dissolve in water are called unsoluable.

Why is water often called the universal solvent?

Due to many substances ability to dissolve in water

What are substances that do not seem to dissolve called?

Substances that do not dissolve are insolubles, because they are not soluble they do not dissolve.

Is it true that water is near-perfect solvent?

Water is considered a "universal solvent" because of its ability to dissolve many substances.

What is 'like dissolves like'?

The chemistry principal of "like dissolves like," explains that polar substances will dissolve in each other. Similarly, a covalent will dissolve another covalent.

Waters ability to dissolve ionic substances?

Water can dissolve ionic substances because in both substances the bond are very polar. When a solute is added to water, some of water's hydrogen bonds break as the water forms intermolecular bonds with the solute. Because ionic substances are polar, the new intermolecular bonds formed when they dissolve in water are quite strong, and can compensate for the energy lost when breaking the water's hydrogen bonds.
