What is the time difference between Arizona and Arkansas?

From the 2nd Sun. of Mar. until the 1st Sun. of Nov., Montana is one hour ahead of most of Arizona.

Arkansas, US is in the Central Standard Time Zone which is also called GMT -6. Arizona is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone which is GMT -7. So there is a one hour time difference (Daylight Saving Time not considered-see below). Since Arkansas is east of Arizona, it is ahead in time.

Example:

If it were 10:00 am CST in Arkansas, it would be 9:00 am MST in Arizona.

Note on Arizona and DST: Most of Arizona does not observe Daylight Saving Time and stays on MST (GMT -7) time year around. However, in the Spring and Summer when DST is in effect in the other US time zones, some parts of the northeast corner of Arizona do change to DST. Then the time zone in that NE part of Arizona would be MDT [GMT -7 (+1 for DST) =] GMT -6. When the CST zone also changes to Daylight Saving Time, Arkansas would then be in the CDT (GMT -5) zone. As mentioned above, the majority of Arizona would still be in the MST (GMT -7) zone. Therefore, during that period, there would be a two hour difference between Arkansas and the majority of Arizona. The section of Arizona that does observe Mountain Daylight Time would continue to be one hour behind Arkansas' Central Daylight Time.

DST Example:

If it were 10:00 am Central Daylight Time in Arkansas (GMT -5), it would be 8:00 am US Mountain Standard Time in most of Arizona (GMT -7) since it does not change.

For the area in NE Arizona that does observe DST, it would be on US Mountain Daylight Time (GMT -6). So 10:00 am in Arkansas on CDT would be 9:00 am Mountain Daylight time in the NE corner of Arizona only.

That depends on the time of year, since Arizona doesn't participate in daylight savings time. Half the year they are on Mountain Standard time, and half on Pacific Standard. Since Eastern Standard (New Jersey) is 2 hours later than Mountain Standard, sometimes it will be 2 hours difference, and sometimes it will be 3.
