sediment load
Sediment is dirt, rocks, and sand carried by a river.
Sediment accumulation is where sediment accumulates generally in the point of the lowest elevation. If sediment is in a river generally the sediment will accumulate at the mouth of the delta when entering the marine environment (proximal to distal).
That is called, a delta.
Stream transport sediment in three ways, dissolved load, (ions in solution being carried downstream), suspended load, (suspended sediment that floats freely downstream) and bed load, (sediment that rolls or scoots along the bottom of the river).

By a river? Deposition.
The sediment itself is called silt, and it often is deposited at the mouth of rivers and forms a landform called a river delta.
Sediment is dirt, rocks, and sand carried by a river.
Large boulders and smaller rocks can be carried by a river. When rocks and sediment are displaced, it's called erosion.

bits and pieces of rock get carried away.
Load quantity in rivers refers to the amount of sediment (such as sand, silt, and gravel) carried by the flowing water. It can be influenced by factors such as erosion, sediment sources, and flow velocity. High load quantities can impact water quality, river ecosystems, and flood risk.
