It depends on the type of heat transfer.for conduction:when thermal energy is applied to a material, the atoms and/or molecules of the material that are in direct contact with the heat source gain an increase in kinetic energy,as the thermal energy is transformed to kinetic energy.these atoms and/or molecules of the material then vibrate and move around faster than before, thus colliding with other atoms and/or molecules through elastic collisions.a chain reaction then occurs throughout the material, using this mechanism.as more and more atoms and/or molecules gain kinetic energy and collide with each other, this increases the material's temperature.keep in mind that this mechanism applies to conduction and convection, not for radiation(eg.you don't have to touch the sun in order for it to warm you up).I'm not sure about evaporation(eg. when you sweat and heat from your body is transferred to the surface of your skin and the air around it).hope this helps, even if its by a teenie tiny bit.

The transfer of heat by the direct contact of particles of matter is called conduction. In conduction, heat is transferred from a higher temperature object to a lower temperature object through direct molecular collisions without the movement of the heated material itself.

convection. No, convection is the movement of heat through a fluid (air or water, for example).

The transfer of thermal energy is heat. Heat is the transfer not the property. The thermal energy of any matter is the average kinetic energy of the molecules or atoms.

iIt is called conduction of heat.

What is the transfer of heat by direct contact of particles of matter called?

The transfer of heat by direct contact of particles of matter is called conduction. In this process, heat energy is transferred from one particle to another in a material, leading to an overall transfer of heat through the substance.

What is heat transfer through direct contact called?

The transfer of heat through direct contact is called conduction.

True or false conduction is heat transfer by direct contact of particles of matter?

True. Conduction is the process of heat transfer through direct contact between particles of matter. Heat is transferred from the hotter end to the colder end of an object or substance by the collision of particles within the material.

What is energy transfer from one substance to another by direct contact?

Conduction is the transfer of energy from one substance to another through direct contact. This transfer occurs as particles collide and transfer kinetic energy to each other, leading to an overall flow of heat.

Which type of heat transfer is by direct contract?

The type of heat transfer by direct contact is called conduction. Heat is transferred through a solid material or between two objects in direct contact with each other. This occurs as the particles in the material or objects collide and transfer energy to each other.

Energy is transferred through matter by direct contact of particles by?

Conduction. This process involves the transfer of heat from a warmer substance to a cooler substance when they are in direct contact. The particles in the warmer substance transfer energy to the particles in the cooler substance through collisions, leading to an overall transfer of heat.
