I have a Hargrove painting. It pictures part of the front of a barn and a wagon on the side of the barn. It measures 12"x16" without the frame. with the frame it's 20"x24". I paid $55 at an antique store. It is signed on the front and also on the back by Hargrove. I had it appraised and they said that at an art gallery they would ask $1,250-$2,500 and they valued mine at $1,500.
I hope this gives you some kind of idea on how much yours is worth.
I have this same painting - it's a 12/ x 16 on canvas and is signed just "Hargrove". I have had this painting for about 20+ years. I do know know if it is worth anything or not.
"Madonna" is a term applied to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and is commonly used in descriptions of artwork depicting her, especially with the baby Jesus. The other Madonna is the megastar, iconic woman that is the Queen of Pop
Sir Edwin Henry Landseer and the painting is called "The Faithful Hound".
I don't know the name of it but it is of 2 little girls sitting in an attic at a table surrounded by toys. There is a mirror on the side that yu can see the girls in. It has a chest with toys spilling out of it. It is very colorful. The girls are dressed up in their Mom's dresses and hats. The painting is a Hargrove and I bought it for about $600 nearly 20 years ago.
Dail lived in Figueras as a child, and began painting in an Impressionist style influenced by his family's friends the Pixtots. Impressionism is about en-plein-air painting, sitting outside and painting what you see.
