The 5 New Pence coin is a British coin and 1968 was the year of its first issue.
The larger pre-1991 5 Pence coins were withdrawn from circulation and demonetised in 1991. So, unless they are part of a Proof or Uncirculated mint set or are individual Proof or Uncirculated coins and in absolute mint condition, they have little or no value.
It depends what kind of coin it is. Usually around $40 it seems...
It's currently worth about 7 cents for the metal content.
5 cents
Canadian money does not actually have a nickel. They have what is called a five cent piece. A 2002 Canadian 5¢ piece is only worth face value.
the value of the nickel is 5 cent
That was a transitional year for the coin's composition. If you have a silver quarter, it's worth up to about $4. If you have one made of nickel, it's worth face value only. A coin made of silver will not be attracted to a magnet, but the nickel ones will stick.
It is made of nickel.
1968 is a common year for these -- a gem uncirculated piece may be worth about 5 cents
10 cents. It's an ordinary circulation coin made out of pure nickel.
The last year for the Canadian silver 5-cent piece was 1921, except those coins weren't called nickels because they didn't contain any nickel. The Canadian nickel (actually made of nickel) was then introduced in 1922.
The first 5-cent US nickel was made in 1866, the 3-cent nickel in 1865, and the copper-nickel flying eagle 1-cent in 1856.
One cent. It was probably plated for use in jewelry or similar. It has no special value to collectors, however.
The value of a 1922 Canadian 5 cent coin is (if in good condition) $0.20.
No 1968 was the last year for the Canadian silver quarter. No that's wrong. I possess the same quarter. You can get 1.50 for it.
