My dad and I bought a Stevens Mod. 940 single shot 16 gauge at a hardware store in 1950. model # 940
Stevens 940 shotguns have a letter after model number is a way to date this gun?
From 25 to 125 dollars depending on the condition... They are worth more to pass down thru your family if you have any young hunters than the monetary value...
Model 940a pore shape what is it worth
Do not get any ideas
How much is a model 940 worth
The 940 is a single shot, break action. $75-$100 is about right for a 16 gauge. A .410 will bring more in most areas, but not more than a few hundred. Perhaps in the neighborhood of $150, unless it is really in like-new condition, then maybe $200 if a collector is interested. After all, you can get a new one at Walmart or Dick's for less.
We have had(stevens savagen arms corporation USA Chicopee falls mass) for more than 3 generatins. My grandfather has bought it. It is still active.Thin and severe.
