• The war ration was not very high. The war ration stamps are very common and the demand for them in the collector's circle is not very high. A complete book might get $10, whereas partial books and single stamps are not going to be anywhere near as valuable.

  The sentimental value is of more value, as it reminds people of the struggles and their contribution to the war effort.

• I agree completely with the sentimental value when finding out that in 1945+, one had to use these stamps to purchase food. Families also had to do an inventory of what they had in their pantry, and they would have to actually subtract their stamps from the book, based on their inventory.
• Rationing ended in 1945; ration stamps obviously have no objective economic value. But they are collected by some people, so they have subjective collectible value. The best way to find the current going prices would be to search eBay auctions for stamps like yours.
• Fewer of the ration stamps were used in Books 2 & 3, making them less valuable.

• When I see them at flea markets and antique shows they are generally under $50. Condition is a big factor, the better the condition the more valuable they are (but yet seldom worth more than $50).

• Do a search on eBay to see what they are going for, you might find what they are worth that way (at least in the auction market). You might also take it to a dealer in your area who sells old stamps, coins, cards, etc. They can sometimes give you an idea of value or point you in the right direction.

• Always pay attention to detail in such cases. For example, a temporary ration book officially marked as such might differ in value from a regular one.

• Agreed. Condition is extremely important, as with all collectibles. (Collectors aren't too keen on items in poor condition).

Well the stamp by it's self is worth no more than a dime so on a book WITH A SPINE INTACT it might be a half dollar also depending one what book it is book one is more rare than book two or three.The condition os a factor obvously the the better condion would sell for more.another thing is the cover does it have one is it still attaced, what about the backing is it still there .Also less of the ration stamps were used in books two & three making them less valuble.i can't tell you mutch but I can tell you that it could be anywhere from thrity cents to a dollar and a half.

Many stamps were issued during and about World War 2. You will need to consult the catalogs. Most libraries will have a copy of Scott's Postage Stamp Catalog of the World. First of all, you have to identify the specific stamp or card. That in itself can be a daunting task, but most of the catalogs are well illustrated with lots of information. Once you know what item you have, the catalog will provide a set of prices that can be used to estimate value.

Not very much, they have limited value as so many were issued. Every person in the US had one. I've seen them go for about $5 a book in excellent condition.
