There was no Australian 1937 Florin, released into general circulation. It seems there were several "Pattern" coins made with a slightly modified reverse. The obverse will be blank (Uniface).

If you have one, it is quite possibly worth a lot of money and it will be one of 15 minted.

They are classified as very rare.

A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.

There are two varieties of Australian 1927 Florin.

The normal type -

An Australian 1927 sterling silver Florin (Two Shillings)(George V), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $1,100 AUD. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from $10 to $275 AUD.

There were 1.42 million minted.

An Australian 1927 sterling silver Florin (Two Shillings)(George V)(Proof), in it's original condition could fetch up to $110,000 AUD.

The Commemorative Opening of Parliament Canberra type -

An Australian 1927 sterling silver Commemorative Florin (Two Shillings)(George V), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $250 AUD. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from $10 to $62 AUD.

There were 2 million minted.

An Australian 1927 sterling silver Commemorative Florin (Two Shillings)(George V)(Proof), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $50,000 AUD.

A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.

There is one minor curiosity with the 1927 Florin. A trial pattern was minted with a slightly modified obverse and a plain reverse with the word "MODEL" on it. There are possibly only two of these in existence.

Where to find the mintmark on a 1944 Florin?

It would depend on the Florin of which country you refer to. The Florins of most British Empire countries were minted at only one mint in 1944, therefore a mintmark was not used. The 1944 Australian Florin was minted both at the Melbourne Mint and the San Francisco Mint. Those minted at the Melbourne Mint have no mintmark. Those minted at the San Francisco Mint have a small "S" above the date and below the Coat of Arms.
