If you have a quarter, half, or dollar with the double date 1776-1976 it is a Bicentennial celebration coin. These were minted in huge quantities so unless it is a proof coin it its original package, it's only worth face value.
If you have a "coin" with the same face on both sides and 2 different dates, it's a novelty item with no value to collectors.
