If your dentist has done a proper job you should be able to eat as soon as the novocaine wears off. I'd stay away from gum and peanut brittle though! ~ T

The length of time that you should wait to eat after having all your teeth pulled will vary. You should wait until your gums have stopped bleeding, at this point you can eat something soft. This could take ten minutes or a couple hours.

Yes, but brush your teeth before you go see the dentist.

How long does one have to wait before they can eat after getting their teeth cleaned?

User Avatar

Yes you should be able to but give your teeth time to ajust before eating. EDIT: After having your wisdom teeth removed, it is advised that you wait to eat solid foods for a while. This period can be as little as 24 hours from the procedure for up to two weeks depending on how the procedure was done, how many teeth were removed, and how quickly you recover. I recommend you speak to your dentist about how long you will need to wait to eat solid food again.

yes you can....not directly after but after about 10-15 minutes you are able to eat again. It may be longer than 10-15 minutes and if you are eating the ice cream and you feel a tingly sensation where your tooth has just been filled, wait another 10-15 minutes and then you should be good to eat for sure.
