It's a little hard to decide exactly how to count "longest", because in many cases there's some dispute about exactly where a particular river "starts" and "ends". The four main contenders are the Nile-Kagera system (about 6600 km), the Amazon-Ucayali-Apurimac system (about 6400 km), the Mississippi-Missouri-Jefferson system (about 6300 km), and the Yangtze (also about 6300 km), which is the clear winner if you insist that the river be called by the same name for its entire length.
The Nile is in Africa, the Amazon is in South America, the Mississippi is in North America (specifically the US, though some of its tributaries are in Canada), and the Yangtze is in Asia (specifically China).
