The primary vehicle through which the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) exercises responsibility for preparing joint operation plans is the Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS). The JSPS provides essential guidance and direction for the development and integration of military strategies and plans across various branches of the armed forces. It ensures coordinated efforts in response to national security challenges and facilitates effective resource allocation and readiness. Ultimately, the JSPS supports the CJCS in fulfilling their role as the principal military advisor to the President and the Secretary of Defense.
