Most children are not diagnosed with ADHD until around age 7 or 8. This is due to being in a school environment where hyperactive behavior is not acceptable; however, for a diagnosis of ADHD the child must have had symptoms before age 7.

alot of children are diagnosed younger i have two sons with adhd one was diagnosed at 11 the other at 12. you can be diagnosed at any age buy it's better the younger the child so problems can be sorted out before they get classed as just another naughty child which of course they are 'nt if you think you or your child has this problem them you should get your gp to refer them to the right clinic.
There is no way to diagnose ADHD at 4 years old. Anything younger then 10 or so (experts disagree) is extremely likely to be diagnosed falsely, because kids under that age are naturally hyper if they have ADHD or not.
About 3 to 5 percent of school-age children in the United States are thought to have AdHD. This means for a classroom of 20 to 30 students, on average there is one child with ADHD. Boys are four time more likely than girls to be diagnosed with ADHD.

Our child was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 15 months, however, we knew she was ill from 11 months but struggled to get the medical community to accept this fact until she fell very ill.I was suspicious at 9 months of my son having Type 1 Diabetes. He was finally diagnosed at 11 months after he was in severe DKA. It was a struggle to have the medical community listen to me. In my research of Type 1. Duke University had a confirmation of the youngest child being diagnosed at 9 months.
Absolutely. Anyone can be diagnosed with ADHD at any age. The essential thing, though, is that the symptoms had been there since you were seven years old or younger. Many people live with ADHD for years, even into adulthood, only to figure out on their own that the problems they were experiencing were due to something that was actually treatable.
The prognosis for ADHD is good with adequate medical treatment. This includes medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes. ADHD is a lifelong disorder and will have to be addressed properly; treatment has higher odds of success if diagnosed at a younger age.
The youngest child killed in the 9/11 attacks was 2 years old.
Normally, the youngest age is 12, but even that can be too young.
