That varies strongly. Where i live (The Netherlands) these things can go for €25 to €100 (i got mine for free!), but i wouldn't be surprised if someone in the US would pay $250 for an EL3536 in good shape, because there probably aren't much shipped to the USA in the 1960s.
These tape recorders are pretty well made and although they are nearly 50 years old, they can still sound pretty good at 19cm/s. Mine still has the original drive belt. The built-in 2x 5w tube amplifier sounds good if combined with the right speakers. They aren't just collectible, they are actually very usable. The capacitors used in these machines are the reliable yellow 'mustard' capacitors, and the electrolytics are pretty reliable as well. Just make sure the felt pads that push the tape against the heads aren't worn.
http://www.acousticgt.com/main/pro_martin.htm This link shows the price at $4700 in 2002, obviously after todays news of his passing the sky's the limit!
if there is a note marked with a number after it it means that you should hold on to that note for however much the value of the number is. G3 G1 F#1 G2 G1 F#1 G3 A1 B3 A2 G4 G1 F#1 G2 G1 F#1 G3 A1 B3 A2 G4 A3 A1 C2 (HIGH C) A2 B1 B2 SORRY I DON'T KNOW THE REST OF THE SONG BUT TRY LOOKING ON SOME OTHER QUESTIONS THIS IS THE BASIC ONE ANY WAY. :)
.3906 x spot price of gold = todays value, most people would be back slightly of the actual value
One cannot give the value without a thorough evaluation of the guitar. I have a friend who has a Martin guitar from the period 1850-1870 (estimated at the Martin factory). Martin did not estimate its value, but an independent estimate put the value in the $5-7K range. To the right collector, this guitar might be worth much more.
There are alot of variables on Yairi Guitars. For example the Model number and the clase number and where it was made and by whom, S Yairi or K Yairi or wether it was made in the USA or in Japan. Early Yairi Classical guitars are the Stativarious of the Nippon Gakki Luthiers and todays values are priceless and should be heard not sold. I hoped I helped you out in some way
