Both Carry Energy, Both are Mechanical waves, Both carry Matter
A wave must be transverse or longitudinal or both.
It is not a synonym, in any case. Mechanical waves can be both longitudinal and transverse. Electromagnetic waves are transverse.
Longitudinal and transverse are both
both, a longitudinal and transverse wave.
Radio wave is not a longitudinal wave it is a transverse wave
A wave must be transverse or longitudinal or both.
Earthquakes generate both transverse and longitudinal waves.
It is not a synonym, in any case. Mechanical waves can be both longitudinal and transverse. Electromagnetic waves are transverse.
Sound waves are longitudinal.
Longitudinal and transverse are both
Earthquake wave.
both, a longitudinal and transverse wave.
its a transverse wave
Radio wave is not a longitudinal wave it is a transverse wave
Water waves are a special example of a combination of transverse and longitudinal oscillation. The individual particles in a water wave move with a circular motion, therefore they have both a vertical and horizontal component to their movement through the wave i.e up and down (Transverse) and side to side (Longitudinal) components.
Light is transverse in nature.
In a transverse wave, the direction of the propagation of the wave is perpendicular tothe direction of the vibration of the source whereas in a longitudinal wave, they both are parallel to each other. A longitudinal wave requires a medium to propagate but a transverse wave requires no medium to travel. Sound is a longitudinal wave and all EM radiation are transverse waves.
