Could you please tell me the value of a 1917, Savage Hornet 23D sporter.
Thank you
Rosemary The Savage model 23D is valued at between 140-250 dollars, for a rifle showing between 60%-90% of its original finish, and having a good bore.I hope this helps Mary.
Manufactured from 1932 to 1948
Value by condition. Over 75% steel and good walnut... Minimum $500 IF serial number is <250000
I can say that the Savage model 23D chambered in .22 hornet was made by Savage from 1933-1947.I do not believe that the serial number break down by year is available in the public domain.
Production began in 1933 and ended in 1942 not long after the war began
Depending on condition, between $400-$450.
it most likely does not have one most if not all of the 23's do not
best place to start would be a company called nurmrich gun parts, if they dont have it on hand, it likely does not exist.
look under the buttplate - should have 4 numbers 42 43 made between 1942/43
You should be able to sell your Savage at any gun store,to another individual,on gun broker.com,or auction arms, etc.
