STUDENT BEHAVIOR

EXPECTATIONS, MODIFICATION AND REINFORCEMENT

SAFE, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE & KIND behavior is expected at all times.

SAFE - Act in a manner that prevents injury to oneself and others at all times

RESPECTFUL - Work, play, and talk, show respect for needs, feelings and the goals of others

RESPONSIBLE - Be on time to school and class, listen carefully to instructions, be attentive while others are speaking, and ask questions that

help you to learn and grow, do your homework, work to your potential, be accountable for your actions, treat your property and the property

of others with respect, and work with others in a positive manner.

KIND - Treat others as you would want to be treated.

These four behavior expectations are the focus of our efforts at Idaho Hill elementary. They will be used to discuss and teach the behaviors expected in all parts of the school setting throughout the school year. School staff will help students by modeling and teaching appropriate behavior, reinforcing the behavior when it is exhibited (catching them being good), and working with students and parents to correct inappropriate behavior.

Some examples of safe, respectful and responsible student behaviors would include:

  1. Bringing required classroom materials to class
  2. Completing required homework assignments when they are due.
  3. Being considerate of others by not teasing or saying things that would hurt other's feelings.
  4. Sharing with others - try to include others if they want to be included.
