Minor nobility would go to court. This was the place of power and where the sons/daughters could meet a likely husband/wife. The young nobles would serve in the court of the queen or king . The women as Ladies in Waiting helping the queen with her wardrobe, her chambers, and as a companion. If they pleased her they gained favor and a possible marriage. It was the same for the young men. Some noble adults worked for the queen in her court as adviser's, experts in various areas, and as part of the queen's guard/army. They often were commanders for forces when they went to war. Some went into exploring or sponsoring ships to the New World. Others became clergy or wrote books on various topics.
Tudor jobs varied from chimney sweeps, scullery maids, rat catchers, yeoman farmers and weavers
