The principle of unity of command says that there should only be one leader for a particular project with a certain objective. An example would be a vice president of an automotive company that wants to design a new hybrid automobile.
Leadership is being able to act without orders or instruction. If you see something that needs to be done or fixed, take the initiative and do it.
There are traditionally 14 principles of management (based upon theories developed by Henri Fayol) and they are: (1) Authority; (2) Scalar Chain; (3) Discipline; (4) Unity of Command; (5) Unity of Direction; (6) Division of Labour; (7) Remuneration; (8) Order; (9) Equity; (10) Subordination; (11) Centralisation; (12) Stability of Tenure; (13) Initiative; (14) Espirit de Corps. However when these were developed management had a very traditional approach to work and workers. As time has passed, we have a different concept of work and organisations such as Apple have shown that the old carrot and stick approach (I say you do) is changing. I would like to add a further 6 namely: (15) Culture; (16) Individual Self Determination; (17) Worthwhile Work; (18) Appreciation; (19) Motivation; (20) Behaviours.
According to OSHA's website, their mission is "to assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance." OSHA does not have a published vision statement. However, it might be interesting to create one for them! Having worked with OSHA in the past, and understanding vision statements myself, I would suggest OSHA's vision statement could be, "A productive workplace that is free of hazards to human health."

The permissibility of wearing stickers in the workplace depends on what item of clothing the sticker would be placed on, the policies of the workplace and the laws of the country, state or province where the workplace is located. Stickers are usually not permitted on head protection as it may hide or create safety defects. Employees who have direct customer contact are generally not permitted to wear stickers that might offend or concern the customers or bring politics into the workplace. Stickers that impair the cooperation of employees in a workplace are usually discouraged, and sometimes forbidden. These would be stickers with political or religious themes, or offensive language.
