Frogs in their larval stage (tadpoles) are typically herbivores, feeding on plants and diatoms, though some are carnivorous, scavengers, or even cannibals. Upon reaching adulthood, almost all species of frog are carnivorous. They are most certainly in the consumer category.
I just asked my Biology teacher and she told me that Amphibians are secondary consumers. ~Natalie~
usually most lizards eat insects which have eaten plants making them a secondary consumer :)
A frog is a consumer. Amphibians are secondary consumers. A secondary consumer is an animal that eats smaller animals that eat plants.
Yes, they consume insects, which in turn had already consumed other insects or plants.
Depending on what is is eating, a crocodile could be a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th order consumer. It could not be a 1st order consumer.
I think that frogs are carnivore.
Technically, it is a secondary consumer, as it does not directly eat producers. It eats primary consumers such as flies.
