The Odyssey is a book, written by Homer, a blind man, following the Trojan War. He described in detail the city of Troy, where Paris, the king's son, reigned. Paris had fell in love with Helen(supposedly the most beautiful women on earth), and they had stole away together during the night. However, Helen was already married to the Mycenaean king. The king sent out over a thousand ships to reclaim his wife, and there the Trojan War started. Supplementary answer: The above describes what Homer relates in the Iliad.
