i just put a whole bottle of 7th gear chaincase oil itslike 16 oz but if your picky its like 9 but chaincases arent to picky you can run atf or gear oil with no problems but i like chaincase oil myself
Polaris has its brand of hub oil , which is not cheap . Ford ATF :automatic transmission fluid is recommended if you do not want to pay for Polaris oil .

no oil goes in the crank case, it uses lubrication from the 2cycle oil injected into the fuel that runs through the crank area

The Polaris 400 Sport can use any as a be certified motor oil. The manufacturer recommends a 10W-30 motor oil.
You can use any oil as long as it's snowmobile oil, it dosent matter if it's arctic cat oil or Polaris oil, it's the SAME
