Radioactive waste produced by commercial medical amd research activites is considered what kind of waste?

Most of this would be low level waste that can be stored in a simple waste store without cooling provisions, though it should be somewhere allocated for this task and bunded to prevent groundwater access. There may be more active sealed sources which need to be kept in shielded containers. These may have a long halflife but will be quite safe so long as the containers are not damaged, so when no longer needed they can be kept anywhere that is not accessible to the public.

What kind of toxic waste are produced by nuclear energy?

Nuclear energy produces wastes in the form of spent nuclear fuels, which are a mixture of radioactive isotopes and heavy metals - both of which are toxic - and irradiated materials surrounding the reactor which become radioactive from exposure to the radiation produced by the reactor and which must be disposed of at the end of the life of the reactor. Note that breeder reactors - which are not permitted in the USA - convert some of the otherwise unusable radioactive isotopes into fissionable isotopes, thus allowing more of the fuel to be used and reducing amount of fuel rod waste (with the rods being re-processed to recover more usable fuel rather than just disposed of).

What are the dangers of not disposing of waste in the correct way?

Well... it depends what kind of waste you are going to dispose. Lets say the waste is a biohazard you must dispose of in the correct way otherwise you might get injured. Not physically like broken bones or cuts. No. Some problems recycling radioactive waste the incorrect way would be rashes and exposure to radioactive chemicals entering your body. Lets say you are going to dispose of expired food in a trash can. That type of waste is not dangerous. However if on your food (lets say bread) mold appears, keep the bag closed and dispose of fast. Otherwise mold will spread penetrating through the bag and on to the surface the bread was on.
