This era would in most people's terms be dominated by the presence of dinosaurs, although this is also when insects and tree fauna began to dominate the planet, as well as water-based reptiles.

Meso means "Middle" and zoic means "form of an animal" - so this is the "middle of animal life" in terms of the Earth's history.

The dominant lifeforms of this section of history would probably be dinosaurs.

well funny thing is is that all you say different things, so how do they know if that is right. it couldn't of been the Mesozioc Era because that was known as "The age of Reptiles" so it would have to be insects that arose.

The most noteworthy feature of Paleozoic life is the sudden appearance of nearly all of the invertibrate animal phyla in great abundance at the beginning of the Cambrian. A few primitive fishlike invertebrates, and then vertebrates, appeared in the Cambrian and Ordovician, scorpions, in the Silurian period, land invertebrates and amphibians in the Devonian, land repliles in the Carboniferous, and marine reptiles in the Permian. All reptiles increased in number and in variety by the late Permian. The plant life of the Paleozoic era reached its climax in the Carboniferous, and was then much diminished in the Permian.

Where did most of the paleozoic era life forms live?

They lived in the ocean because they were marine animals.

What is an fact about the paleozoic era?

There are so many facts about the Paleozoic era. This was the time when the explosion of different forms of life. New species of organisms were formed during this era which started over 500 million years ago.

What life form that lived during the Paleozoic period is an important index fossil?

The life forms that lived during the Paleozoic are Permian, the Carboniferous, (both the Mississippian and the Pennsylvanian), the Devonian, the Silurian, the Ordovician, the Cambrian, and the Precambrian. The Paleozoic Era lasted from 570 to 225 Million Years Ago. Complex forms of life appear. During this 345 million year period, plants and animals underwent rapid evolution. The Paleozoic era lasted about 345 million years. It includes the Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, and Permian periods. Index fossils of the first half of the Paleozoic era are those of invertebrates, such as trilobites, graptolites, and crinoids. Remains of plants and such vertebrates as fish and reptiles make up the index fossils of the second half of this era.

Why are there gaps in the fossil record particularly at the end of the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras?

Apparently, and with evidence, these were periods of global catastrophes (for life-forms) where massive numbers of organisms went extinct.

The middle Paleozoic era is known as the Devonian period. The period ended with the death of many species of vertebrate life. During this time, many life forms transitioned from living in the water to living on land.

What is the most significant difference between Precambrian and Paleozoic life-forms?

The Precambrian life forms were less developed than the Paleozoic life forms. The Precambrian life forms were just starting to develop because this was 544 million years ago. that meant that things still needed to grow. This time didn't last very long though, due to the morphic and erosional processes. The Paleozoic Era began when organisms began developing new hard parts. This made it easier for fossils to be preserved.
