liquids with different densities will not mix. example/ oil and water, water is les dense and floats ontop of the oil, in a glass container there are obvious layers of water and oil.

some liquid 'mixtures' take longer than others because their densities are close in value.

Vinegar, water and Olive-oil don't mix together. they form 3 layers with oil at the top, water in the middle and vinegar at the bottom. (most oils float on water e.g. in oil spills)
