Golding ends Lord of the Flies like he does to overall expose us to the perspective an adult would have on the savage behavior the boys exerted. The boys ended up causing destruction, killing others, and losing all manners during this period of time. The naval officer is completely disgusted by the way they acted since being rich and intelligent British boys they were taught better. Overall he ends the book that way on account of irony.

William Golding's experiences affected his book greatly. Because he wrote this book during World War 2 the book had a darkside to it. Writing during a war doesn't exactly make you want to write about butterflies.

The war had really affected William Golding on his views of humanity.Seeing how people could cut each other up like animals during the war got him to write the book on it. And show people they should respect each other and not fight

The title is supposedly in reference to the Hebrew name Beelzebub, (literally translated, "Lord of the Flies") a name that sometimes (in The Bible, for instance) means Satan. It's pretty apt because the message of the book, of course, is that man in inherently evil.

To William Golding Lord of the flies means the pigs head put on the stick sharpened at both ends by Jack and his tribe that represent Evilness of the heart as the once civilized boys had turned to be monster at the island just like the mother sow who had once loved the island thinking it would protect her children but has now been turned in to a demonic mocking creature .
