Check your Brakes or have someone look at them.
Depending on the nature of the noise, when it occurs and more description, it'll be very hard to offer ideas on a cause. One thing that does cause 'noise', is a thumping / clicking when changing the heater temperature setting. See "Related Questions" below for more about that particular problem.

One possibility could be a bad wheel bearing.
The ticking noise is the metal cooling.
fuel pump makes noise when hot. indication of fuel pump getting ready to fail. or may continue to operate for months like this. filling tank cools fuel pump assy and quiets the noise - maybe prolongs life of fuel pump.
Bad rod bearings ? Bad main bearings ? try a broom stick to see where it is located makes diagnosis easier
It sounds a lot like you have a brake problem. You need to get it checked out before any more serious damage is done, and it costs you a fortune.
Try cleaning the battery cable connections of corrosion.
